American families do not spend the time necessary to help avoid problems because they are always on the go. It is also causing the human bodies to unlearn how to tell naturally when it is hungry. Americans will stop for fast food while out running because it is “time for dinner” not because they are actually hungry. Aside from the effects it is having on American families, it is also having numerous other effects.
If a person eats fast food regularly it can very easily lead to the condition known as obesity. Obesity is defined by dictionary.com as “the condition of being very fat or overweight; corpulence”. Due to the amount of fats put into most fast foods has person can very easily become obese. They also have a tendency to move away from more natural foods such as fruits, vegetables, nuts, and milk.
Research has shown that people who consume fast food three or four times within a week have a higher risk of developing heart disease. The reasoning behind this is that fast foods contain a very large amount of saturated fats. Consuming large amounts of saturated fats lead to conditions such as high cholesterol and clogged arteries.
Type 2 Diabetes
People that eat fast food have a tendency to avoid the healthier foods that the body needs to stay healthy. By avoiding the healthy foods the body does not produce insulin properly leading to Type 2 Diabetes. Diabetes has effects on the entire body and lead to dire consequences. Fast food combined with diabetes can also lead to stomach problems. The large amount of fats and higher glucose levels can lead to many stomach problems.
People that eat fast food regularly are known not to eat the healthier foods the body needs for nutritional purposes. More natural foods just as fruits, vegetables, milk, and nuts provide the body with proper nutrients needed to function properly.
