3 Fantasy Book Series Just Waiting to Be a Huge TV Hit

1. A Dance with Dragons A Song of Ice and Fire Book 5 By George R. R. Martin

This is the Fifth book in A Song of Ice and Fire, and everything in Westeros, Essos and beyond is coming to a head.. So far many Character have died, and it is looking like this series will be right up there with Macbeth for a death toll.

The situation at the Wall is dire. With Jon Snow’s sudden promotion, add Wildlings at the gates, White Walkers anywhere there is a corpse, the mysterious Red Lady to the mix, and you have a pot of Dragon’s Fire waiting to go off.

Arya is now blind and has new tasks set before her by the Kindly Man. Bran, Hodor, and the others join up with some new mysterious allies on their way to find the Three Eyes Crow. His Warg abilities become stronger as he get used to the idea of not having the use of his legs.

Personally if Tyrion dies I am done with the series till the next book comes out. He is the little bastard that you root for because he goes from the frying pan, into the fire, and then someone still tries to eat him. If you love tragedy and strong characters, keep reading this series.

I don’t say this often but this book really has a vibe similar to The Giver and Divergent. It’s not just the futuristic or fantastic elements that make it seem that way. It’s honestly the type of book that ages very well. It’s the subtle themes coming to life.

In the world of Red Rising Mars has been colonized and the society has split up into color-coded castes. The Red caste is at the bottom and the Gold caste is at the top. The Reds toil away in mines trying to make the planet inhabitable for future generations. Or at least that’s the narrative being pushed to justify the status quo.

An ordinary Red by the name of Darrow finds out the planet has already been made inhabitable generations ago. The Golds simply refuse to let go of the power they have over Mars. Frustrated by this Darrow decides he’s going to infiltrate the Golds and obtain a position of power. With that power, he hopes that he will be able to get the revenge he wants so desparately even it means he has to be one his enemies.

This book is great for fans of fantasy classics. It’s full of twists and wonder on the same level as the Harry Potter series. Most sci-fi geeks will love Red Rising especially the later chapters. However, that shouldn’t stop everyone else from loving it either.
